We've thought about every layer of your pad. The plant-based top feels cloud-soft against your skin, while our innovative core keeps you dry and comfortable. When you're ready for a change, just flush - everything, including the wrapper, transforms into tiny plant fibers that help create renewable energy and fertiliser. It's period care that thinks ahead.
Our pads are made from plants, with a unique, non-toxic, water-dispersible adhesive that’s kinder to you and the planet. To get the best out of them, we recommend using them within 12 months of opening.
To get the best out of them, store in a dry place away from moisture.
Our super soft and breathable topsheet is made from plant fibres. It keeps you feeling dry and comfortable.
We use a non-toxic, water dispersible adhesive on the wings and bottom of the pad. This sticks the pad to your underwear to keep it in place.
The high absorbency of our pad comes from our biodegradable polymer core. It quickly absorbs blood and locks it in. It is 100% biodegradable and can be safely flushed.
What's inside other pads
You will never see fragrance included in our products. Fragrance poses a high risk of irritation, and we don't believe it should ever be in period products.
Unlike standard period pads, we only include materials that are essential to the performance of the product, so we never use dyes or pigments in our pads.
Hot Melt Adhesives are usually plastic-based and take over 500 years to degrade. This is why we’ll never use them in our pads.
Titanium Dioxide is a toxin. Other period brands use it to make their products opaque, we think this is unnecessary and so don’t use it in our pads.
Polyester is a synthetic fabric that's usually derived from petroleum. Other brands use this for absorbency, but it’s not biodegradable and can shed toxic microfibres into the environment.
Whilst cotton is a natural resource, the sourcing and production of cotton can be both environmentally destructive and unethical. Cotton production also uses vast amounts of water and causes soil degradation. We use tree fibres instead of cotton as a sustainable and ethical alternative.
What to expect when you switch
We believe that pads which are worn for a few hours should not stick around for 500 years. Therefore, we chose materials that act differently to permanent plastic. Here’s what you should expect when making the switch:
Changing your pad
You may have to change your Fluus pads more regularly, especially if your flow is heavier, if you're planning to exercise or if it's particularly hot. We recommend experimenting during your first period with Fluus to find out what works best for you.
Natural Fibres
It is normal for some of the biodegradable adhesive and fibres from the bottom of the pad to remain on the underwear after you remove the pad. These should wash out in the machine, or if stubborn, can be removed with gentle hand-washing.
Time to Fit to you
Our natural and biodegradable materials may initially feel a little stiff, but they will loosen up and conform to your body within about 30 minutes.
Yes - they’re engineered to disintegrate safely in water systems when flushed, so you can dispose of them with confidence.
