More about the petition

Founded by Michelle Dewar, the petition calls for up to 3 days of paid leave per month for people with menstrual health conditions like endometriosis and adenomyosis, along with:

  • Job protection
  • Confidentiality
  • Non-discrimination

This isn’t radical — it’s reasonable. Countries like Portugal already have menstrual leave. The UK should too.

Why We’re Getting Involved

At Fluus, our mission has always been simple: to make periods safer, simpler and sustainable. We’ve redesigned period care to protect your body and the planet, but true sustainability means more than just better pads. It means a world where menstruation is understood, supported, and respected.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with Michelle Dewar, founder of the petition to support her petition calling for statutory paid menstrual leave for people with diagnosed menstrual health conditions.

Why Menstrual Leave Matters

It's compassionate.

Endometriosis and adenomysosis can cause debilitating pain during menstruation. Policies that accommodate women in the workplace is not special treatment, but compassion in action.

It’s sustainable for people and the planet.

If we want period care to be truly sustainable, our policies must be too, recognising the physical, emotional and practical realities of menstruation.

It’s about visibility.

1 in 10 people live with endometriosis, a condition that can make periods unbearably painful and debilitating. Yet most workplaces still offer no flexibility or understanding.
